The Michelin Alpin 7 proved a balanced and notably durable winter tyre, showing particular strength on snow with excellent lateral guidance and snow handling, plus strong wet performance (side guidance and overall wet handling), good aquaplaning resistance both longitudinally and crosswise, and a comfortable ride. Testers also noted short wet braking distances and an even behavior on dry asphalt, but warned of a rather sluggish, strongly understeering steering response on wet surfaces and some susceptibility to aquaplaning. It did not finish last in any evaluated property.
