Detailed head-to-head comparison based on actual test results
Today, we're comparing two notable tyres, the Vredestein ULTRAC VORTI+ and the Bridgestone Potenza Sport. Both tyres are produced by reputable manufacturers Vredestein and Bridgestone, respectively.
The Vredestein ULTRAC VORTI+ is recognised for its comfort and mud traction, with our overall rating of 85%. Notably, it also delivers commendable performance in wet handling. One area of improvement could be the tyre's grip in the wet and dry conditions, as well as a high rolling resistance. It didn't perform quite as well in all tests, as it managed to secure the 2nd spot in the Autobild test out of 11 total tyres.
On the other hand, the Bridgestone Potenza Sport is a Ultra Ultra High Performance(UUHP) summer tyre. Made in Poland and Hungary, its strongest features include dry braking, handling on gravel, and mud traction. This tyre is also to be noted for its wet braking and wet circle cornering, though slightly less so for its wet handling. According to users, it presents low aquaplaning resistance and higher levels of noise, but these are coupled with excellent dry handling and quick steering. This tyre secured a 5th position in the Autobild test, offering an appealing blend of performance and comfort. Our overall rating for it is 89%.
In mutual tests, the Vredestein tyre slightly edged out the Bridgestone in terms of comfort. However, when it comes to crucial factors like grip in both dry and wet conditions and performance on different terrains, Bridgestone Potenza seems to be a superior choice.
No new model has replaced either of these tyres yet. Both represent the high-quality production of their respective brands, offering impressive performance in tests, despite minor limitations. While Vredestein offers better much traction and comfort, Bridgestone excels with good handling and braking in different conditions, showing a superior performance in the Autobild's test. Choosing between the two might come down to the specifics of what each driver values most.
