In this comparison, we'll be looking at two summer tyres, Tomket Sport and the Kumho Ecsta HS52. The two tyres have garnered varying results in multiple tests. Let's analyze their performance in the following tests, AutoBild 2024, Autoklub ČR and ADAC, to establish an overall verdict of their strengths and weaknesses.

The Tomket Sport has been evaluated with less satisfaction, earning an overall rating of 11%. Despite being touted for its light weight and efficiency, as well as low abrasion according to the AutoBild 2024 test, it has received criticism for its performance both on dry and especially wet surfaces, it also faced detractors for its sustainability and lifespan. It is usually ranked in the lower half in tests, position 34 out of 55 in AutoBild, position 16 out of 19 in Autoklub ČR and 37 out of 50 in ADAC.

Tomket, the manufacturer does not offer any newer replacement model at present.

On the other hand, the Kumho Ecsta HS52 has received far more favorable feedback, with an overall rating of 78%. This tyre has consistently shown exceptional performance in dry braking, dry handling, and wet braking. However, the Autobild 2024 test also pointed out slight weaknesses in terms of environmental balance and efficiency, and sustainability. Ranked second in Autobild test out of 55 tyres, it managed to hold onto a position above average in both Autoklub ČR (13 out of 19) and ADAC (8 out of 50) tests.

Being a successor to the Kumho Ecsta HS51 model, the HS52 model is a significant improvement. Kumho, the manufacturer does not offer any newer replacement model for HS52 currently.

In conclusion, the Kumho Ecsta HS52 outperforms the Tomket Sport overall, excelling in both handling and braking on different surfaces while also being generally more balanced. However, the Tomket Sport may still appeal to those prioritizing high efficiency and low abrasion. Both tyres have their pros and cons, but the HS52's more consistent and higher ranking testify to its superior overall performance as a summer tyre.
