Today, we are comparing two summer tyres, the Barum Bravuris 5 HM and the Bridgestone Turanza T005. They come from different manufacturers; Barum and Bridgestone respectively. Both tyres are designed for excellent performance and durability, but come with their unique strengths and weaknesses. Let's delve into the details.

The Barum Bravuris 5 HM scored a rating of 39% in our tests. Unfortunately, it didn't perform exceptionally well in the ADAC and Autobild tests, scoring 15th out of 17 tyres and 29th out of 53 tyres respectively. It doesn't shine in areas where it might be expected to excel, as the specifics of its performance are not stated. Nonetheless, this tyre remains a feasible option if you are seeking a budget-friendly tyre that covers basic needs.

On the other hand, the Bridgestone Turanza T005 scored a remarkable 92% rating in our tests. It is a touring subtype, made in several countries including Hungary, Poland, France, and Italy. It shows a notable performance in the ADAC and Autobild tests, securing the 4th position among 17 tyres and 7th among 53 tyres. The Turanza T005 particularly excels at dry braking, with additional strengths in wet braking, wet circle cornering, wet handling, and rolling resistance. Its balance on both wet and dry surfaces is commendable, providing good grip and handling. Furthermore, it is described as highly efficient with a significant environmental balance.

Despite these strengths, the Turanza T005 has some flaws. Its lifespan might not be as long as expected, as indicated by a comment on an "eingeschränkte Laufleistung" (restricted mileage). Some tests noted a slightly increased wear ("Leicht erhöhter Verschleiß").

In conclusion, if you are seeking a tyre with excellent grip, great handling, and effective performance on both wet and dry terrains, the Bridgestone Turanza T005 is a strong contender. If you are after a lower-cost option and willing to compromise on performance, the Barum Bravuris 5 HM may be adequate. Nonetheless, in terms of general test performance, the Bridgestone Turanza T005 has a clear edge.
