Comparison: Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 vs. Michelin Pilot Sport 4 vs. Michelin Primacy 4 vs. Michelin Primacy 3 vs. Bridgestone Turanza 6

Today's review features two of the leading tyres in the industry: Goodyear's Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 and Michelin's Pilot Sport 4. These high-performing, summer tyres, made by Goodyear and Michelin respectively, have been put through rigorous testing to compare their performance.

Born in DE, the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 doesn't have a previous model, and while we don't have an internal rating for it, it has received commendable scores in comparison tests. However, note that this model has been replaced with Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5.

The tyre's standout feature according to the Automotorsport test is its low rolling resistance, which enhances fuel efficiency - an essential attribute for environmentally conscious drivers. Despite its performance, Goodyear's tyre wasn't a top performer overall, with a sixth position out of ten in the Automotorsport test, eight out of nine in the EVO test. However, it finished a close second in both Autobild and SportAuto tests.

Made in ES and DE, the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 succeeds the Pilot Sport 3 model. Our internal testing gives this tyre a score of 84%, and it has been replaced by the Michelin Pilot Sport 5.

In comparison tests, the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 consistently clinched the top position, demonstrating its superior performance. Its promising areas according to the Automotorsport test were Dry braking, Dry lane changing, Wet braking, Wet handling, Wet handling - objective, and Wet safety, highlighting its exceptional all-weather performance.

In summary, both the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 and Michelin Pilot Sport 4 are competitive options for summer tyres. If fuel efficiency is a priority, the Goodyear tyre presents a compelling option with its proven low rolling resistance. But if performance across various weather conditions is crucial, then the Michelin tyre, with its prevalence in dry and wet conditions, could be more suitable.

However, it's important to note that both these models have been upgraded to the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 and the Michelin Pilot Sport 5. These newer models might offer enhanced features and improved performance, so consider them while making your choice.
