Today, we are comparing two popular summer tyres: Firestone Roadhawk and Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance. Both tyres have proved their worth in a number of tests, so let's dive into the results and find out their strengths and weaknesses.


The Firestone Roadhawk scored an overall rating of 71% on our website. It performed well in Autoklub ČR and ADAC tests, securing positions 11 and 4, respectively, out of a total number of 16-19 tyres. The tyre stood out with its dry driving behavior, safety, and wet braking. In the Autobild test, it was ranked 3rd out of 51 compared tyres. However, Firestone Roadhawk has not been replaced by any newer model.


On the other hand, the Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance performed exceptionally well with a stellar overall rating of 88%. It ranked 8th in Autoklub ČR test, where its dry handling was especially appreciated, and 12th in the ADAC test with the best features being aquaplaning (cross) and aquaplaning (longitudinal). It's important to note that Goodyear has already introduced a successor to the Efficient Grip Performance – the Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2, which is expected to offer even better performance.

While the Firestone Roadhawk excels in dry driving behavior, safety, and wet braking, the Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance scores better in overall test positions and is particularly notable for its dry handling and aquaplaning features. Moreover, Goodyear has already introduced a newer version of the tyre, with likely improved performance.
