Comparison: Firestone Firehawk Sport vs. Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6

3 mutual test(s) with detailed data

The analysis compares two top summer tyre models - the Firestone Firehawk Sport and the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6. Our evaluative data combines multiple professional tests and presents conclusive insights into them.

Analysed across several aspects, the Firestone Firehawk Sport shows some strong qualities. It boasts excellent rolling resistance and low exterior noise, with good characteristics on dry and wet road surfaces. Not to be overlooked, it also features lower fuel consumption than many of its counterparts. Nevertheless, this Firestone model has been criticized for slight weaknesses in aquaplaning behaviour, higher abrasion and a not so high predicted mileage, thus placing it ninth in the Autobild test and fourth in the SportAuto test among 13 and 11 tyres respectively.

In contrast, the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6, a successor of popular Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 and Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3, ranks considerably higher. It performs exceptionally in areas such as exterior noise, dry handling, comfort, mileage, price/value, aquaplaning - longitudinal, wet handling, and wet circle cornering. Its larger place on the podium is consistent across various tests, as it secures third position in Autobild among 13 tyres, second in SportAuto among 11 tyres, and fourth in the ADAC test among 18 tyres. This Goodyear model is commended for its safety reserves, directional stability, short braking distances in wet conditions, and outstanding mileage. However, its wet grip in curves is not at a peak level.

In terms of a conclusive verdict, it is clear that the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 has an edge over the Firestone Firehawk Sport, owing to its comprehensive strengths and higher test rankings. Nevertheless, the latter still maintains commendable performance attributes worth considering.
