The Dunlop Sport BluResponse and the Cooper Zeon CS8 are both summer tyres that provide good performance on the road but differ notably in some respects. This comparison comes from several tests, we've conducted, revealing their strengths and weaknesses.
Dunlop Sport BluResponse, produced by the reputed manufacturer Dunlop, has an overall rating of 71% based on our test results. In the Autobild test, out of 51 tyres, this model secured the 8th position, notably standing out due to its rolling resistance and comfort features. It also performed fairly well in the Autobild 2024 and the ADAC test, where it stood 16th out of 50 tyres. However, it showed some weaknesses on wet roads and slightly unbalanced performance. A slight downside is that this tyre's environmental balance and treadwear are not up to par, according to Autobild 2024.
In contrast, we have the Cooper Zeon CS8, manufactured in Great Britain by Cooper. Giving an overall rating of 42%, this tyre showed better performance on wet surfaces. It secured the 13th position in the Autobild test and 33rd spot in the ADAC test, out of 50 tyres. However, Autobild 2024 pointed to considerable weaknesses on dry surfaces, along with shortcomings concerning environmental balance and treadwear life. Furthermore, it has been pointed out for being inefficient and unsustainable.
In conclusion, the Dunlop Sport BluResponse shows superior overall performance in comparison with the Cooper Zeon CS8. With better test position rankings and a higher overall rating, it offers a more balanced and efficient performance, especially on dry roads. However, those particularly prioritising wet road driving may still consider the Cooper Zeon CS8, although it comes with certain disadvantages in dry conditions and environmental performance.
Neither of these models has been replaced by newer versions at the time of this review. Therefore the information and ratings provided remain current and relevant for those considering a future purchase of either tyre.
