The Uniroyal RainSport 5 and the Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2 are both summer tyres, displaying remarkable features within their make. However, there are numerous differences in their ratings and test results.

The Uniroyal RainSport 5 stands out with an our rating at 72% while the Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2 soars higher with an impressive 87% rating. Built by Uniroyal and Goodyear respectively, these tyres have been tested on various parameters, showing different strengths.

In the Autobild test, the RainSport 5 ranked 19th out of 53 tyres, exceptionally scoring high points in the aquaplaning - cross and -longitudal categories. Despite its strengths, the tyre showed weaknesses such as low mileage, high fuel consumption, and significant deficiencies on dry roads. Thus, it's less balanced and somewhat weak in terms of environmental balance and sustainability (wenig ausgewogen, deutliche Schwächen auf trockener Fahrbahn (Abwertung), Schwäche bei Umweltbilanz und Nachhaltigkeit, geringe Laufleistung, hoher Spritverbrauch).

Contrarily, Efficient Grip Performance 2 ranked 13th in the same test, showing best features in the mileage, price/value, and comfort categories. In the Autobild 2022 test, it displayed convincing handling qualities, short braking distances, and best grades in cost chapter, and a high mileage paired with low rolling resistance, despite a somewhat high price level (Premiumprofil mit überzeugenden Handlingeigenschaften, kurzen Bremswegen und Bestnoten im Kostenkapitel, hohe Laufleistung, geringer Rollwiderstand, hohes Preisniveau).

In the ADAC test, the RainSport 5 ranked 13th out of 15 with excellent features in aquaplaning - cross and noise categories, while the Efficient Grip Performance 2 ranked 4th, thing that surely can be considered a significant improvement.

In conclusion, the Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2, which replaced the Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance, appears to perform better in most tests, showing a significant advantage in terms of mileage, comfort, and value for money. However, if you encounter frequent wet conditions, the Uniroyal RainSport 5's superior aquaplaning features could be beneficial. Yet, overall, the Efficient Grip Performance 2 is the higher-rated tyre.
