When it comes to selecting a reliable summer tyre, both Sava Intensa HP2 and Nokian WetProof catch the eye for various reasons. Yet, they offer different strengths and weaknesses which we will explore in this article. These insights are based on the tyre tests presented by ADAC and Autobild.


The Sava Intensa HP2, a product from Sava, it a successor to the popular Sava Intensa HP model. Despite this, the HP2 model has not seen a newer version to date. The tyre grabbed a score of 67% from our ratings. Yet, in the tyre tests considered, Sava Intensa HP2 struggled to secure top rankings. It secured the 12th position out of 18 in the ADAC test and 22nd out of 53 in the Autobild test. From the test data, it is depicted that the tyre is efficient and lightweight; however, it records weaknesses at driving safety and on both dry and wet roads. Environmental performance and slightly compromised tread life have also been noted as areas of improvement for this tyre.


On the contrary, the Nokian WetProof, manufactured by Nokian in Finland, has improved ratings and test positions compared to its counterpart. Our team gave this performer an impressive 74% rating. In the ADAC and Autobild tests, the tyre secured a noteworthy 6th position. The test summaries highlighted the well-balanced characteristics of WetProof and its good performance on both dry and wet roads, along with efficiency. Despite these strengths, there are still aspects to be improved: it was mentioned to be lacking in environmental performance, tread life, and sustainability.


Overall, in a head-to-head comparison, Nokian WetProof outperforms Sava Intensa HP2 in the majority of the categories, including overall ratings and test positions. While Sava Intensa HP2 is praised for its efficiency and lightness, its weaknesses in safety and environmental performance pose a significant downside. Nokian WetProof, well-balanced and performing well on all types of roads, seems like the superior choice here.
