Let's compare two summer tyres: the Nokian WetProof and the Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2. They are designed by two accomplished manufacturers, Nokian Tyres and Goodyear, respectively. Both of these tyres excel in different departments and have conducted several tests to assess their strengths and weaknesses.


The Nokian WetProof is a tyre made in Finland with a rating of 83% on our site. This tyre didn't replace any previous models. The Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2 is the successor of the Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance and enjoys a slightly higher rating of 87%.


In the ADAC test, out of 15 tyres, the Nokian WetProof secured the 11th position, whereas the Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2 came 4th. The Nokian is recognized for its excellent performance in noise reduction and wet circle cornering. According to Autozeitung, the Nokian WetProof ranks 6th out of 10 tyres tested, while the Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2 takes the 3rd position.


When evaluated by Autobild, among 53 tyres, the Nokian WetProof and Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2 finished 6th and 13th, respectively. The Goodyear Tyre stood out for its mileage, value-for-money, and comfort. In the GTÜ test, the Nokian secured the 2nd position with its exceptional performance in wet circle cornering and wet handling.


The Nokian WetProof shows some weaknesses in environmental friendliness, durability, and sustainability, according to AutoBild 2019. Despite these, it performs really well on both dry and wet surfaces and is deemed efficient.


Overall, both tyres hold their ground strongly in terms of performance. Goodyear Eagles Performance 2 excels at dry handling, exterior noise reduction, and wet handling. On the other hand, the Nokian WetProof significantly reduces exterior noise and provides excellent wet handling. If comfort and value-for-money are your priority, the Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2 may be the better choice. However, for excellent handling under wet conditions, the Nokian WetProof may come out on top.
