Comparison: Nexen N Fera Primus vs. Firestone Roadhawk vs. GoodYear Efficientgrip Performance 2 vs. Pirelli Cinturato P7 C2

Today we will be comparing two widely popular summer tyres, Nexen N Fera Primus and Firestone Roadhawk on the basis of various tyres tests and evaluations conducted.

Nexen N Fera Primus, manufactured by Nexen, features in the ultra high performance (UHP) subtype. This model has an overall rating of 71% as per our evaluation. One of its notable accomplishments is that it ranked 10th in tests conducted by both Autobild and ADAC, outperforming a considerable count of 51 and 50 types of tyres respectively. The Primus particularly shines in conditions of Aquaplaning - longitudal, as noted in Autobild's test. Critics also praised its good braking performance and dynamic wet handling capacities. However, they pointed out a delayed steering response and limited tyre life or economy.

On the other hand, Firestone Roadhawk comes from one of the well-known manufacturers, Firestone. Compared to Nexen N Fera Primus, this model has a lower overall rating of 59%. In tests conducted by Autobild and ADAC, it secured 30th and 20th position respectively. The Roadhawk was complimented for its efficiency, light weight, good dry road handling, and low wear. However, it was found to be less balanced with noticeable underperformance on wet roads and limited tyre life.

It is important to mention that these models cherished their fair share of weaknesses too. Some of the hits for Nexen N Fera Primus included an understeering dry handling, significantly limited tyre life, and increased rolling resistance. Similarly, Firestone Roadhawk demonstrated shortcomings including lack of balance, weaknesses on wet surfaces, and wear-induced performance deterioration.

To summarize, both these tyres demonstrate great individual performances in certain areas. Nexen N Fera Primus tends to shine in Aquaplaning situations and presents good breaking performance while Firestone Roadhawk performs exceptionally well on dry roads and is light-weight. However, considering the cumulative results of multiple tests, Nexen N Fera Primus evidently presents a better-rounded performance making it the preferred choice amongst the two.
