Comparison: Michelin Primacy 3 vs. Continental ContiPremiumContact 5 vs. Firestone Roadhawk vs. Kleber Dynaxer HP4

The Michelin Primacy 3 and the Continental ContiPremiumContact 5 are two premium summer tyres that have been widely recognized for their superior performance in varied testing conditions. It's worth mentioning that the Michelin Primacy 3 has been displaced by a newer model, the Michelin Primacy 4, while the Continental ContiPremiumContact 5 has been superseded by the Continental PremiumContact 6.

Compared to its continental counterpart, the Michelin Primacy 3 has held its ground in multiple tests, typically securing higher placements. In the ADAC and Autozeitung tests, for example, the Primacy 3 came in first out of 16 and 10 tyres, respectively, whereas the ContiPremiumContact 5 took the third and second positions.

However, it's important to note that the Continental ContiPremiumContact 5 outperformed the Michelin Primacy 3 in the Autobild test, scoring 9th out of 50 tyres as opposed to the latter's 10th place. In the Firmenauto test though, the Primacy 3 was second while the ContiPremiumContact 5 was third.

In terms of strengths, the Michelin Primacy 3 is often praised for its excellent grip in both dry and wet conditions, as well as its durability. Conversely, its main weaknesses are slightly higher rolling resistance and noise levels. On the other hand, the Continental ContiPremiumContact 5 is lauded for its superb handling on wet roads, low rolling resistance, and comfort. Nonetheless, the tyre's reduced wear resistance can be seen as a drawback.

To sum up, although both tyres offer highly satisfactory performance, Michelin Primacy 3 generally performs slightly better in mutual tests. However, both have been replaced with newer models, so users might want to consider the Michelin Primacy 4 and the Continational PremiumContact 6 for their updated features and improved performance.
