Comparison: Kleber Quadraxer 2 vs. Firestone Multiseason 2 vs. Michelin ALPIN 6

If you are in the market for all-round tyres, two options you might be considering are the Kleber Quadraxer 2 and the Firestone Multiseason 2. These models are manufactured by Kleber and Firestone, respectively. Based on our tests, we have found both have their strengths and weaknesses.

The Kleber Quadraxer 2, manufactured in Poland, performs exceptionally well on a snow-covered surface, with high-rated features such as snow braking, snow cornering, snow handling, and snow traction. Additionally, this model offers a quiet ride with its low exterior noise. However, its overall rating is 33% due to certain limitations, namely its restricted reserves at curve aquaplaning.

In contrast, the Firestone Multiseason 2, made in Italy, scores higher in our rating at 67%. Its best features include snow traction and an excellent price-value ratio. This tyre provides good traction, short braking distances on snow, dynamic wet handling, short dry braking distances, high mileage, and very good price-performance ratio. However, it falls short in terms of safety reserves at aquaplaning.

In the mutual test 'Autobild 2020', the Kleber Quadraxer 2 took 14th position out of 32, whereas the Firestone Multiseason 2 climbed higher on the scale, grabbing the 6th position. This clearly highlights the more balanced performance of the latter on various terrains and conditions.

However, Kleber has already released an updated model – the Quadraxer 3, which might provide improved performance over the Quadraxer 2. Firestone has not yet released a successor for their Multiseason 2 tyre.

To sum it up, if snow performance and lower noise are your priority, then Kleber Quadraxer 2 would be the ideal choice. On the other hand, if you're looking for better overall performance and value for money, then Firestone Multiseason 2 clearly edges ahead.
