Today we're comparing two highly rated touring summer tyres: the Hankook Ventus Prime 4, successor to the Hankook Ventus Prime3 K125, and the Michelin Primacy 4+, which evolved from the Michelin Primacy 4 and Michelin Primacy 3.


Overall, in comparison tests, the Hankook Ventus Prime 4 outperforms the Michelin Primacy 4+ in our rating system by 4%, with a score of 81% against 77%. These models were produced by Hankook and Michelin respectively.


In Vibilagare's test, out of 9 total tyres, the Hankook Ventus Prime 4 ranked 6th and the Michelin Primacy 4+ followed closely behind, securing the 7th position. Coming to the Autobild test, out of a staggering 55 tyres, the Hankook model clinched the 4th position, praised for its Aquaplaning - longitudal performance and its low Exterior noise. The Michelin Primacy 4+ was ranked one position behind at 5th, with its best features being its Comfort, and low Exterior noise.


In autobild 2024's test, the Hankook Ventus Prime 4 demonstrated dynamic behavior on both wet and dry tracks. It exhibited short braking distances on dry surfaces but fell short in mileage. On the other hand, the Michelin Primacy 4+ impressed with its balanced high-performance potential, good handling qualities, short dry braking distances, and exhibited exemplary mileage and economy.


Test results from ADAC gave us another perspective. Out of 50 tyres, the Michelin Primacy 4+ ranked third, displaying a very balanced performance. The Hankook Ventus Prime 4 ranked ninth, showing balanced performance on dry and wet tracks but showed slight weaknesses in Aquaplaning and efficiency.


Autoklub ČR's test saw 19 tyres with the Michelin Primacy 4+ placing a strong second, and the Hankook Ventus Prime 4 finishing ninth.


In conclusion, both tyres reflect the quality you'd expect from Hankook and Michelin. Although the Michelin Primacy 4+ consistently ranks in the top three in most tests done, the Hankook Ventus Prime 4, with its dynamic handling especially in Aquaplaning performance, gives it a tough competition, coming up out on top in our ranking.
