Comparison: Firestone Roadhawk vs. Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2 vs. Michelin e.Primacy vs. Continental PremiumContact 7 vs. Goodyear Efficientgrip 2 SUV

We are comparing two popular summer tyres - the Firestone Roadhawk and the Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2. Both tyres have had strong showings in various tyre tests that evaluated their performance, durability, and cost-effectiveness. In our assessment, the Goodyear model scored higher with a rating of 87%, compared to the Firestone's 72%.

Looking at a recent test by Autobild, the Firestone Roadhawk excelled in dry and wet handling and had a respectable performance in wet side guidance. The tyre excelled in dry handling and wet handling and fended well in the wet side guide. However, it had a weakness in wet surface performance, specifically in terms of control and grip. Overall, it secured the 10th position among 53 tyres tested.

In the same Autobild test, the Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2 earned top marks for its impressive mileage, value and comfort. Despite these strong features, the tyre placed 13th in the test, slightly behind the Firestone Roadhawk.

The ADAC test further put these two filters to the test. Here the Firestone Roadhawk succeeded in dry braking and wet circle cornering but it struggled with handling on wet surfaces, making it the loudest tyre in the test. Overall, it came in 9th position among 16 tyres tested.

The Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2, on the other hand, outperformed all tires in the ADAC test, coming in first place. Additionall, it was found to have excellent handling, short braking distances and high mileage according to Autobild 2022.

However, some drawbacks were noted. The tyre's the higher than average cost was seen as a minus. This, in addition to the excellent handling, short braking distance and high mileage culminated in Goodyear's strong showing in our tests as evidenced bye its 87% rating.

In conclusion, although both the Firestone Roadhawk and Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2 performed well in our tests, the Goodyear offers outstanding performance and value despite its high price. Ensuring that you get value for your money. Check out more about Goodyear tyres here.
