Comparison: Firestone Multiseason 2 vs. Maxxis Premitra AS AP3 vs. Hankook Kinergy 4S2 H750

3 mutual test(s) with detailed data

Today we dive into a detailed comparison of two popular tyres, the Firestone Multiseason 2 and the Maxxis Premitra AS AP3. Crafted by leading manufacturers Firestone and Maxxis, these models have been tested comprehensively, analyzed for their strengths and weaknesses, and positioned in various tests to show their performances.

The Firestone Multiseason 2, a winter tyre, has performed notably well in tests overall, securing a 6th position out of 32 tyres tested (courtesy Autobild) and our own rating of 67%. Its strengths lie in its Price/Value and Snow Traction, tested by Autobild. It performs very well on short snow and wet braking distances, high mileage, and low rolling resistance. However, it presents some handicaps in terms of moderate side guidance on snow, low safety margins in corner aquaplaning, and extended dry braking distances.

The Maxxis Premitra AS AP3 is an all-round tyre, securing a 13th position in the AutoBild tests out of 32, and our rating of 63%. Its standout features are its Wet circle cornering and low Exterior noise. The tyre proves to excel in terms of aquaplaning qualities and offering value for money. A few obstacles it faces include delayed steering response, understeering handling in all weather conditions, and limitations in mileage and efficiency.

While both the tyres tested have their strong points and areas which require improvement, the Firestone Multiseason 2 seems to have a slight edge over the Maxxis Premitra AS AP3 in performance. That being said, the final choice will depend upon specific criteria such as driver preference, climatic and road conditions, and the specific requirements of the vehicle.

Remember, no new tyre models have replaced these as yet, and the competition between winters and all-round tyre categories continue to be close and challenging.

Our aim is to present you with a comprehensive review and comparison to help you make an informed decision. You can find more details about each tyre on their respective pages Firestone Multiseason 2 and Maxxis Premitra AS AP3.
