Comparison: Firestone Firehawk Sport vs. Pirelli P ZERO PZ4 vs. Continental PremiumContact 7

The Firestone Firehawk Sport and the Pirelli P ZERO PZ4 are both ultra-high-performance summer tyres. This comparison article aims to provide detailed information gathered from various tests and reviews on each tyre's performance, helping consumers make an informed decision.

Firestone Firehawk Sport is a summer tyre that garnered a respectable rating of 76% in our internal evaluation. As an Italian-made UHP tyre, the Firehawk Sport's strongest features include rolling resistance and exterior noise.

In more specific tests, such as Autobild, the tyre ranked 9th out of 13. Reports praised its accurate steering response and good comfort on dry terrain but noted mediocre wet handling and braking. In SportAuto, Firestone claimed the 4th spot and was applauded for its low rolling resistance. However, there were some drawbacks to this model, including average aquaplaning properties and delayed steering response on wet surfaces.

Conversely, the Pirelli P ZERO PZ4 earned 89% in our internal evaluation, making it a top performer in the ultra-ultra-high-performance summer category. It stood out with impressive features like dry braking, longitudinal aquaplaning, and dry handling.

In the Autobild test, Pirelli was ranked 3rd and was highly praised for its precise steering and short braking distances. Despite these strong features, the tyre faced some criticism for its increased rolling resistance. Pirelli landed in the 5th spot in the SportAuto test, where its dry steering response was appreciated.

Across multiple tests, both tyres showcased their unique strengths and weaknesses. Summing up, the Firestone Firehawk Sport delivered solid performance in terms of rolling resistance and exterior noise, but it struggled with wet handling. On the other hand, the Pirelli P ZERO PZ4 performed exceptionally in dry braking and handling but had higher rolling resistance.

Overall, our test results suggest that the Pirelli P ZERO PZ4 might be the better option of the two for their superior performance rating and overall better positioning in the tests. However, the final decision should take into account individual needs, preference and budget.
