The Falken ZIEX ZE310 Ecorun, a touring tyre, gets a modest 72% rating from our site. Its advantages shine through in wet conditions, as it proves itself under wet braking and provides excellent resistance against aquaplaning both longitudal and crosswise. On the other side, with a site rating of 76%, the Dunlop SP Sport MAXX RT2 - an UUHP summer tyre - shows off its high calibre in tests. It demonstrates great performance in wet conditions and aquaplaning resistance, as well as bringing impressive comfort to the ride. Noticeably, it also has excellent comfort levels in both Autobild and ADAC tests. However, the tyre slightly falls short with its delayed steering response on dry surfaces.

In an ADAC test, the Dunlop SP Sport MAXX RT2 finished at position 5 out of 16 tyres, outperforming the Falken ZIEX ZE310 Ecorun which finished at position 10. This suggests that it offers a more reliable and well-rounded performance. However, in an Autobild test, the gap was much closer with the Dunlop SP Sport MAXX RT2 finishing at position 7 and the Falken ZIEX ZE310 Ecorun at position 5 out of 51 tyres, an impressive standing.
In conclusion, both tyres offer reliable performance with their own specific strengths and weaknesses. The Dunlop SP Sport MAXX RT2 could be the better pick if comfort and precise wet handling are your top priorities. Yet, the Falken ZIEX ZE310 Ecorun stands out as a more budget-friendly option with strong aquaplaning resistance and stabilised handling, particularly winning the contest in wet conditions.
