Comparison: Continental EcoContact 6 vs. Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2 vs. Pirelli Cinturato P7 vs. GoodYear Efficientgrip Performance 2 vs. Michelin Primacy 5

In this article, we will compare two popular summer tyres from renowned manufacturers, the Continental EcoContact 6 and the Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2.

The Continental EcoContact 6 is a summer tyre manufactured in Germany and has replaced the Continental ContiEcoContact 5. Our rating for this tyre is 78%. Some of its strengths include exterior noise, comfort, and rolling resistance. However, according to the Autobild 2022 test, it has limited aquaplaning capabilities and longer wet braking distances. It also tends to have delayed steering response and understeering behaviour. In this test, the EcoContact 6 ranked 23rd out of 51 tyres tested.

On the other hand, the Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2 is a successor of the Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance and boasts a rating of 89%. Its strengths, as per the Autobild 2022 test, include mileage, price/value, and comfort. The only downside noted for this tyre is its higher price. The Efficient Grip Performance 2 ranked 18th in the same test, outperforming the EcoContact 6.

In the Autozeitung test, the Continental EcoContact 6 and Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2 placed 7th and 3rd out of a total of 10 tyres tested, respectively. This indicates that the Efficient Grip Performance 2 had better overall performance compared to the EcoContact 6.

Moreover, in the ADAC test, the EcoContact 6 ranked 8th out of 16 tyres, excelling in interior noise. However, it was relatively weak in aquaplaning on wet surfaces. The Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2, on the other hand, took the top spot in this test, further solidifying its position as a superior tyre in this comparison.

Conclusion

In summary, both the Continental EcoContact 6 and Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2 are excellent summer tyres from reputable Continental and Goodyear manufacturers. However, the Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2 consistently outperforms the Continental EcoContact 6 in most tests and categories, making it the better choice for motorists seeking a high-performance, reliable summer tyre. The only drawback is its higher price, but the tyre's performance and value make it a worthwhile investment.
