Comparison: Semperit Speed-Life 3 vs. Nexen N Fera Primus vs. Pirelli Cinturato P7 C2

Today, we are comparing two summer tyres – the Semperit Speed-Life 3 and the Nexen N Fera Primus.

Revealed as Seq 47th in our rankings, the Semperit Speed-Life 3 is a summer tyre succeeding the previously known Semperit Speed-Life. It performs well on wet roads, is efficient, and showcases an acceptable tyre life. On the downside, this Semperit model displays some unevenness and falls short on dry surfaces, leading to a downgrade in its test results. It also had a relatively low ecological score.

Contrastingly, the Nexen N Fera Primus is a summer tyre, classified as an ultra-high performance (UHP) type. This Nexen tyre secures a convincing 66% in our ratings. Particularly impressive are its performances in the area of longitudinal aquaplaning, where it outperforms a significant number of competitors. Excellent braking performance and dynamic handling under wet conditions are other plus points. However, it also reveals shortcomings in terms of delayed steering responsiveness and a limited mileage, impacting the overall economic viability.

In the Autobild test, out of 51 tyres, the Semperit Speed-Life 3 finished in 43rd place, while the Nexen N Fera Primus secured a commendable 10th position. The ADAC 2022 test had similar results with the Semperit ranking 19th and the Nexen 10th out of 50 tyres.

In summary, the Semperit Speed-Life 3, while being an efficient tyre with decent wet road handling, does falter in terms of dry surface performance and environmental impact. The Nexen N Fera Primus, on the other hand, offers superior aquaplaning capabilities and wet handling, though it is marked by limited tyre life and somewhat slow steering responsiveness.

On balance, both tyres have their benefits and drawbacks, but according to our data, the Nexen N Fera Primus has a slight edge in the aggregate test results, landing a higher overall ranking.
