In our test comparison, we are pitting two summer tyre models: the Semperit Speed-Life 3 and the Bridgestone Turanza 6. Both tyres bring their unique strengths to the competition, and we've trawled through various tests and user reviews to offer a comprehensive evaluation.

The Semperit Speed-Life 3, rated at 47%, had replaced the previous Semperit Speed-Life model that had been a reliable staple in the Semperit lineup. This tyre's strengths include good handling on wet surfaces and impressive long-term durability. The tests have predicted a high mileage performance for this model, thanks to its very low wear. A remarkable feature of this Semperit model is its efficiency and low rolling resistance, which translates to reduced fuel consumption and, therefore, a greener choice. However, it falls short when on dry roads and needs improvement in its dry-weather drivability as noted in Auto Bild's 2020 tests.

On the other hand, the Bridgestone Turanza 6 achieved a rating of 77%, proudly occupying the 16th position among 50 tyres tested by Auto Bild. Replacing the Bridgestone Turanza T005, this Spanish made Bridgestone summer tyre impresses with its top-class comfort and excellent resistance to rolling. Safety is ensured with its well-rounded driving properties on both wet and dry roads. Its top features include strong resistance to aquatic planing and lower interior noise. The Bridgestone Turanza 6 also denotes a high mileage prediction and low wear as test results. Notwithstanding, it showed slight weaknesses on dry and wet roads during a test held by ADAC. A final area of improvement suggested by Auto Bild 2023 is its average-level value for money.

Our verdict, based on all available tests and user reviews, leans towards the Bridgestone Turanza 6 due to its higher overall rating and better test position. While it comes with a higher price point, its performance justifies the investment. Yet, the Semperit-Speed 3 put up an honorable fight, offering a good choice for those prioritizing economical and ecological efficiency.
