Comparison: Semperit Speed-Life 3 vs. BFGoodrich Advantage vs. Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2 vs. Firestone Roadhawk vs. Pirelli P ZERO PZ4

On our tyre tests website, we've conducted a thorough comparison of the Semperit Speed-Life 3 and the BFGoodrich Advantage. As Semperit's successor to the Speed-Life series, the Speed-Life 3 summer tyre stands out for its satisfactory wet braking capabilities. On the other hand, BFGoodrich's Advantage, a BFGoodrich summer tyre, is noted for its comfort and dry handling.

According to our comparative testing, the Semperit Speed-Life 3 rates lower (59%) than the BFGoodrich Advantage (68%). When the Semperit Speed-Life 3 was run on Autobild's track, it came in 12th out of 53, showing strength in wet braking. However, the scores from autobild 2024 show room for improvement in dry conditions. Despite this, the Semperit Speed-Life 3 still outperformed the BFGoodrich Advantage for the ADAC ranking, coming in 2nd out of 15, with its cross aquaplaning and exterior noise reduction capabilities.

Unlike its German counterpart, the BFGoodrich Advantage excels in dry handling, comfort, and fuel efficiency. It ranked 18th on Autobild's test—a slightly underwhelming but decent position—and 9th in an ADAC comparison of 15, and it won praise for its fuel efficiency. According to autobild 2024, this tyre has strong dry handling and a quiet ride at a fair price. The primary downside is a tendency to understeer in the wet.

In conclusion, both tyres demonstrated significant strengths and weaknesses, rendering it difficult to declare an absolute winner. As a result, the choice between the two would largely depend on your specific driving conditions and needs. The Semperit Speed-Life 3 would seem the better option if most of your driving is done in wet conditions, considering its superior wet braking and aquaplaning resistance. Conversely, if you prefer driving on dry surfaces, value comfort, and dry handling, the BFGoodrich Advantage would come out on top.
