Comparison: Semperit Speed-Life 3 vs. Barum Bravuris 5 HM vs. Cooper Zeon CS8 vs. Continental PremiumContact 6 vs. Michelin Primacy 4+

Today, we are comparing two summer tyres, Semperit Speed-Life 3 and Barum Bravuris 5 HM, both popular models from reputable manufacturers. In our ratings, the Semperit Speed-Life 3 scores 59%, whereas the Barum Bravuris 5 HM trails behind at 39%.

The Semperit Speed-Life 3 is a successor to the previous model, the Semperit Speed-Life. On the other hand, the Barum Bravuris 5 HM doesn't have any specific predecessor model. Coming from Semperit, known for their quality and performance, the Speed-Life 3 positioned 10th out of 17 in the ADAC test and 12th out of 53 in the Autobild test. It stands out with its mileage and wet braking, however it does show weaknesses on dry roads and in its environmental impact. We suggest being cautious while driving on dry conditions and considering the eco-balance.

Meanwhile, from Barum comes the Barum Bravuris 5 HM, which secured the 15th position in the ADAC test and 29th in Autobild test, indicating it might not be as competitive. No particular strengths were highlighted in the tests, suggesting it's a versatile tyre but doesn't excel greatly in any one area. However, given its comparatively lower rating, there may be areas where it doesn't perform as strongly.

If we compare them side by side, the Semperit Speed-Life 3 seems to display more strengths and less significant weaknesses. It also is the winner in their mutual test positions. While both tyres have room for improvement, the Speed-Life 3 from Semperit comes off looking like the stronger choice. Yet, the choice also depends on individual preferences and requirements. We would highly recommend considering individual driving habits and conditions before settling on a tyre.

To summarize, the Semperit Speed-Life 3 scores better according to our ratings and test results, both with regards to mileage and wet braking. Barum's Bravuris 5HM, though more versatile and less specialized, fell behind in the tests. Therefore, between the Semperit Speed-Life 3 and the Barum's Bravuris 5 HM, our verdict is in favor of the former.
