Comparison: Semperit Speed-Life 2 vs. Kumho Ecsta PS71 vs. Falken e.Ziex vs. Hankook ION Evo

Today we will be comparing two summer tyres, the Semperit Speed-Life 2 and the Kumho Ecsta PS71. Both tyres are designed for optimal performance during the warmer months.

Starting with the Semperit Speed-Life 2, this tyre unfortunately did not rank highly in our tests, receiving a 0% rating. On the plus side, the tire demonstrated strength in rolling resistance according to ACE's testing. However, it scored position 30 in Autobild’s tests out of a total of 53 tyres. The tyre has now been replaced with a newer model, the Semperit Speed-Life 3.

The Kumho Ecsta PS71 on the other hand, performed significantly better in our tests, with a substantial 68% rating. The PS71 ranked 18th on the Autobild test, significantly higher than the Speed-Life 2. The PS71 also stood out in ACE's test, securing position 2 out of 11 entries. Moreover, it performed exceptionally well in areas of Aquaplaning - both cross and longitudinal, and Exterior noise.

In conclusion, while both the Semperit Speed-Life 2 and the Kumho Ecsta PS71 have their strengths, the latter outperforms the former in overall tests performance. Therefore, if you're looking for a reliable, top-performing summer tyre, the Kumho Ecsta PS71 comes out ahead in overall test results.
