Comparison: Pirelli P ZERO vs. Bridgestone Turanza T005 vs. Maxxis Premitra HP5

2 mutual test(s) with detailed data

The battle between the Pirelli P ZERO and the Bridgestone Turanza T005 is fiercely considered on the tyre market. Each model is claimed to be the best by their respective manufacturers, Bridgestone and Pirelli.

Both are summer tyres, but their performance varies across different conditions and tests. The Pirelli P ZERO, made in Italy, scored an average rating of 61% in our tests, while the Bridgestone Turanza T005, which is made in Hungary, Poland, France, and Italy, surpassed it with a rating of 89%. Neither of these models have been replaced with newer models yet.

In the mutual tyre tests, the Pirelli P ZERO emerged with a strong performance in wet conditions. This tyre showed remarkable strengths in wet side guide in the AutoMotorSport test, and wet circle cornering in the Gute-Fahrt test. Furthermore, in the Autobild test, the P ZERO demonstrated further strengths in dry handling, dry braking, wet braking, wet circle cornering and wet handling.

On the other hand, the Bridgestone Turanza T005 demonstrated outstanding performance in rolling resistance in the AutoMotorSport, the Gute-Fahrt and Autobild tests. However, it's worth mentioning it ranked lower in the Autobild test with 53 tyres, coming in at 10th place compared to 4th place of the Pirelli P ZERO.

Verdict: If your priority is wet and dry handling and braking, the Pirelli P ZERO is the tyre for you. However, if you're looking for a touring tyre with excellent rolling resistance properties – an important factor influencing fuel efficiency –, the Bridgestone Turanza T005 would be the ideal choice.

In conclusion, both tyres have their strengths and weaknesses. They are both reliable, high-quality summer tyres with exceptional characteristics, and the ultimate choice would depend largely on drivers' specific requirements and preferences.
