Comparison: Pirelli Cinturato P7 vs. Maxxis Premitra HP5 vs. Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2 vs. Continental PremiumContact 6

1 mutual test(s) with detailed data

The Pirelli Cinturato P7 and Maxxis Premitra HP5 are both summer tyres that have been tested through various performance indices. Neither of the tyres has been replaced by a newer model so far.

The Pirelli Cinturato P7, manufactured in Italy and Romania, scored a rating of 75% on our website, indicating a solid performance. The notable strengths of the Pirelli included dry braking, noise reduction, and aquaplaning resistance, as highlighted in the ADAC test where it ranked 4th out of 12 tyres tested. Moreover, autozeitung recognised the Cinturato P7 for its dynamic handling and steering behaviour, although it noted that its cost-effectiveness and mileage could use improvement.

On the other hand, Maxxis Premitra HP5, even though unspecified where it's made, secured a slightly lower rating of 69% on our site. Proving its mettle in the Autobild test, it outstripped the Pirelli by securing the 8th position out of 55 tyres reviewed, compared to Pirelli's 9th. The Premitra HP5 was applauded for its good mileage and short dry braking distances by autozeitung. However, a delayed steering response and mediocre grip level on both wet and dry surfaces were highlighted as areas of improvement. Another factor worth noting is its performance in the Gute-Fahrt test, where it ranked 7th out of 10 tyres tested.

In direct comparison, both tyres have their strengths and weaknesses. The Pirelli Cinturato P7 shines with its dynamic steering and handling, along with impressing noise and aquaplaning characteristics, but falls short in terms of cost-effectiveness and mileage. The Maxxis Premitra HP5 on the contrary offers a good mileage and outperforms the Pirelli in terms of dry braking, ranking higher in more tests, but it also lacks in certain aspects such as grip level and steering response. Ultimately, the choice between the two would depend on the specific needs and preferences of the driver.
