Comparison: Pirelli Cinturato P7 C2 vs. Continental PremiumContact 7 vs. Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2 vs. GoodYear Efficientgrip Performance 2

Today we are comparing the Pirelli Cinturato P7 C2 and the Continental PremiumContact 7, both summer touring tyres designed to provide optimal performance in warm weather conditions.

The Pirelli Cinturato P7 C2, which replaces the previous model Pirelli P7 Cinturato, achieved an overall rating of 89%. In tests conducted by Autobild, the Pirelli tyre was commended for its comfort, resistance against aquaplaning, and low rolling, coming in 6th out of 10 tyres overall. In Aftonbladet's test, it took the 3rd position, and in Autozeitung's it was second, with its best feature being dry braking.

Coming up as a strong competitor, the Continental PremiumContact 7, which successively takes over from the Continental PremiumContact 6 and the Continental ContiPremiumContact 5 models, boasts a highly commendable rating of 97%. Autobild places the Continental tyre at 2nd position in its test, praising its impressive wet and dry handling, as well as efficient rolling resistance. Ranked first in both the Autozeitung and Autoklub tests, this tyre is heralded for its high safety standards in wet conditions and exceptional braking in both, wet and dry situations.

While both tyres display excellent performance, some differences can be observed. For instance, the Pirelli model won some favor for its stable handling under wet and dry conditions, good comfort levels, and reduced rolling resistance according to Autobild's 2024 test summary. However, it also came under criticism for slightly longer dry braking distances and a higher price level.

On the other hand, the Continental participated in the same test and showed exceptional handling, precise steering, excellent aquaplaning safety reserves, and both short dry and wet braking distances. Nevertheless, it too was criticized for its high price point.

All in all, the test results suggest a slight edge for the Continental PremiumContact 7 in the overall performances, achieving higher accolades and commendations in more categories. Both of these tyres provide reliable performances and choosing between them will largely depend on individual driving and budget needs.
