Today we are comparing two summer tyres, the Petlas Imperium PT515 and the Sava Intensa HP2. The Petlas model is rated at 48% and the Sava model at 67% on our scale.


The Petlas Imperium PT515, a Petlas tyre made in Turkey, scored a position of 35 in the Autobild test out of 53, and 30 in the ADAC test out of 50. Autobild 2024 review highlights the high mileage and low wear of this tyre but found some significant weaknesses, specifically on wet and dry surfaces leading to downgrading. Additionally, it was comparatively heavy and showed substantial weaknesses in terms of sustainability.


On the other hand, the Sava Intensa HP2, a successor to the Sava Intensa HP, made an improved position of 22 in the Autobild test and 18 in the ADAC test out of 50 tyres. Autobild 2024 review found the Sava tyre to be efficient and light yet not balanced, with weaknesses in safety. There were shortcomings on both dry and wet surfaces which led to a downgrade. Further weaknesses were found in its environmental footprint, and slight weaknesses in mileage and wear, leading to a downgrade.


In overall comparison, the Sava Intensa HP2 ranks better in tests overall than the Petlas Imperium PT515. Yet, both tyres have certain strengths and weaknesses. The Petlas model offers high mileage and low wear, while its weight and sustainability are drawbacks. As for the Sava model, its lightness and efficiency are its main strengths, while its weaknesses are related to balance and safety on both dry and wet surfaces.


In conclusion, the tire choice depends on the preferences of the car owner. If longevity and durability are major priorities, then the Petlas tyre might be a better fit. However, if efficiency and lightness are more important, the Sava tyre could be the right choice.
