Comparison: Michelin Primacy 4 vs. Pirelli Cinturato P7 vs. Firestone Roadhawk vs. Pirelli P ZERO PZ4

With a rich list of features and consistently solid performance, the Michelin Primacy 4 and Pirelli Cinturato P7 have become popular choices among many drivers. Let's have a closer look at the tyres manufactured by Michelin and Pirelli and see how they stack up against each other.

The Michelin Primacy 4, a successor to the Michelin Primacy 3, receives an overall rating of 82%. Boasting impressive fuel efficiency, comfort, dry braking, and wet handling, this summer tyre has a reputable standing. Specifically, in the Teknikens and ADAC tests, it took the top spot out of 10 and 12 tested tyres, respectively. It further showed commendable performances in the AutoMotorSport and Autozeitung tests where it secured the 2nd and 3rd positions. However, it is worth noting that the tyre has been replaced by the Michelin Primacy 4+.

On the other hand, the Pirelli Cinturato P7 scores a rating of 75%. Produced in Italy and Romania, this summer tyre impresses with wet handling, dry driving behaviour, and safety, as highlighted in the ADAC test where it clinched the 4th position behind the Michelin Primacy 4. The Pirelli tyre also did well in the Teknikens, AutoMotorSport, and Autozeitung tests, securing the 4th and 5th positions severally. Notwithstanding, the tyre did not perform quite as well in the ACE test where it was ranked last.

Summary-wise, both tyres offer a varied mixture of strengths. The Michelin Primacy 4 consistently performs better in dry braking, comfort, rolling resistance, and both dry and wet handling. Alternatively, the Pirelli Cinturato P7 demonstrates distinct strengths in areas such as wet handling, dry driving behaviour, safety, and lesser interior noise.

Overall, while both tyres have their distinct advantages, the Michelin Primacy 4 exhibits a more overall consistent performance across all tests, making it a better choice for varied driving conditions. Despite this, the Pirelli Cinturato P7 is still a solid contender, especially if the driver requires lesser noise and prefers better dry driving behaviour.
