Comparison: Michelin Primacy 4 vs. Goodyear Efficientgrip 2 SUV vs. GoodYear Efficientgrip Performance 2 vs. Hankook ION Evo vs. Falken e.Ziex

Our comparison today will focus on two top-rated summer tyres: the Michelin Primacy 4 and the Goodyear Efficientgrip 2 SUV.

The Michelin Primacy 4, a touring type tyre, is a successor to the Michelin Primacy 3. It boasts an 82% rating from our testing and is made in Spain, Germany, and Poland. The tyre is well-known for its superior grass traction and optimized dry braking. Its comfort level is highly praised as well. However, it seems to struggle a bit when facing aquaplaning situations. Despite that, Michelin Primacy 4 took the second position in the Autobild test among the 10 tyres tested. This model has been replaced by the upgraded Michelin Primacy 4+.

On the other hand, we have the Goodyear Efficientgrip 2 SUV, a successor to the GoodYear Efficientgrip SUV. It has earned an impressive 89% rating in our tests. With top marks for exterior noise reduction, grass traction, handling on gravel, sand traction, and comfort, it indeed surpasses its competitor, making it the winner of the Autobild test. Harmonious wet and dry handling and low rolling resistance only add to its laundry list of positives. Yet, it's worth noting that at this time, no newer model has succeeded the Goodyear Efficientgrip 2 SUV.

Both tyres excel in discrete areas. Michelin Primacy 4 shines when it comes to dry braking and rolling resistance, making it the perfect choice for dry and slippery roads, while Goodyear Efficientgrip 2 SUV is the top pick for a quieter ride and great traction on different terrains.

In conclusion, based on all the test results, the Goodyear Efficientgrip 2 SUV stands as an overall better choice due to its more rounded performance, nabbing the first position in the Autobild tests. Although, for those seeking a balance between quality and cost, the Michelin Primacy 4 would still make for a decent choice, especially if your main concern is on dry terrain.
