Comparison: Michelin Primacy 4 vs. Continental PremiumContact 6 vs. Maxxis Premitra HP5 vs. Falken ZIEX ZE310 Ecorun vs. Hankook Ventus Prime3 K125 vs. Dunlop Sport BluResponse

In this comparison, we will be looking at two highly-rated touring summer tyres: the Michelin Primacy 4 and the Continental PremiumContact 6. Both tyres have previously replaced their respective predecessors, the Michelin Primacy 3 and Continental ContiPremiumContact 5. As newer versions, Michelin Primacy 4+ has replaced the Michelin Primacy 4, and the Continental PremiumContact 7 has replaced the Continental PremiumContact 6. However, we will still look at how these two perform based on several tyre tests and their strengths and weaknesses.

Overall, the Michelin Primacy 4 has a 90% rating and is known for its exceptional performance in dry conditions, as seen in the ADAC, GTÜ, Autobild, and Teknikens tests. Additionally, it excels in safety, mileage, rolling resistance, fuel efficiency, and comfort. The Primacy 4 came in first place in both the Promobil and Teknikens tests and outperformed the Continental PremiumContact 6 in the GTÜ and Autobild tests. However, it had minor weaknesses in wet conditions, mostly when compared to the PremiumContact 6.

The Continental PremiumContact 6 also has a 90% rating and shines in wet conditions, showcasing excellent performance in wet braking, wet cornering, and handling. Some of its notable strengths can be found in the ADAC, Autozeitung, and ACE tests. In fact, the tyre secured the top position in the Autozeitung test, surpassing the Michelin Primacy 4. The PremiumContact 6 also has a low fuel consumption, making it an eco-friendly choice.

When comparing the overall positions of each tyre in the tests, the Michelin Primacy 4 consistently scored higher than the Continental PremiumContact 6 in several tests except for the Autozeitung and ACE tests, where the latter took the lead.

In conclusion, both tyres have their respective strengths and weaknesses. If you prioritize dry performance, safety, and comfort, the Michelin Primacy 4 might be the better choice for you. On the other hand, if wet performance and fuel efficiency are your top concerns, you should opt for the Continental PremiumContact 6. These highly rated summer tyres from Michelin and Continental provide exceptional performance regardless of their individual strengths, making them excellent choices for any touring vehicle.
