Comparison: Michelin CrossClimate+ vs. Kleber Quadraxer 2 vs. Hankook ION FlexClimate

In this comparison, we review two all-round tyres: the Michelin CrossClimate+ produced by Michelin, and the Kleber Quadraxer 2 from Kleber. We'll look at how they performed in several tests, their strengths and weaknesses, and give a verdict on each.

The Michelin CrossClimate+ has our rating of 71%. It frequently performed well in tests, usually landing within the top 5 positions. In one Autobild test, it finished 2nd out of 27 tyres. It showed its strengths in various areas such as dry braking, exterior noise, rolling resistance, dry handling, mileage and snow handling. Though laudable for its balanced performance in all weather conditions, dynamic handling qualities, precision steering, high mileage, and low rolling resistance, it does come with a high price tag.

On the other hand, the Kleber Quadraxer 2 has a lower overall rating of 33%. Although it was generally placed towards the middle of the testing rankings, coming in 11th out of 27 in the same Autobild test, it demonstrated strong competencies in exterior noise, snow braking, snow cornering, snow handling, and snow traction. Testers commended it for its performance on snow-covered roads, short dry braking distances, quiet rolling noise, and good durability. On top of these qualities, it's also more affordable than the CrossClimate+. However, its limited reserves during curve aquaplaning were highlighted. This tyre was replaced by the Kleber Quadraxer 3.

In conclusion, the Michelin CrossClimate+ is a high-performing all-round tyre with wide-ranging strengths, optimal for those ready to invest more for top performance. The Kleber Quadraxer 2, while not as high-performing overall, shows strong merits in snow driving and is a more economical choice. Remember to consider your specific driving habits and requirements when deciding between these two decent all-round tyres.
