Comparison: Linglong Grip Master 4S vs. Michelin CrossClimate 2 vs. Continental AllSeasonContact 2

1 mutual test(s) with detailed data

Today we will be comparing the Linglong Grip Master 4S and the Michelin CrossClimate 2 - two prominent all-round tyres available in the market by Linglong and Michelin respectively.

Starting with the Linglong Grip Master 4S, its main strengths lie in its comfort and price-value ratio, according to the AUTOBILD test. However, it only managed to attain the 14ᵗʰ position among 37 tyres. It was particularly praised for its secure handling on dry running track and good comfort. This tyre, though, showed weak performance on snowy and wet roads, with moderate reserves upon aquaplaning danger.

On the other hand, the Michelin CrossClimate 2 claimed 4ᵗʰ position in the same test, being applauded for its mileage, rolling resistance, snow handling, and cornering. It went on to secure the 2ⁿᵈ position on another Autobild test as well, excelling in dry braking, snow handling, cornering, and traction. Yet, it also exhibited slightly extended braking distances on wet roads.

Clearly, the CrossClimate 2 is a significant improvement over its previous model, Michelin CrossClimate.

But the stellar performance comes with a higher price. The 2023 autobild officially named the CrossClimate 2 as the test winner for having excellent driving characteristics on snow and ice, dynamic dry handling, good aquaplaning qualities, precise steering behaviour, and very good mileage. However, the price point is on a higher side compared to other tyres in its category.

To sum up, Michelin CrossClimate 2 evidently outperforms Linglong Grip Master 4S in multiple aspects, including dry and snow handling, mileage, rolling resistance, and aquaplaning resistance. Although Linglong Grip Master 4S offers reasonable comfort and value for its price, it falls short when compared to the higher-ranked CrossClimate 2. Hence, for those who are looking for an all-round performer without a strict budget constraint, the Michelin CrossClimate 2 is highly recommended.

Nonetheless, it's worth mentioning that our rating of these two products sits at 0% and 93% respectively, which signals a massive gap in performance and value-for-money from our perspective.

Before choosing which tyre to get, always consider your specific driving conditions, needs and budget.
