Comparison: Kumho Ecsta HS52 vs. Pirelli Cinturato P7 C2 vs. Nexen N Fera Primus

The objective of our comparison today involves two impressive tyre models, the Kumho Ecsta HS52 and the Pirelli Cinturato P7 C2. Both tyres hail from prominent manufactures, Kumho and Pirelli respectively. Renowned for their quality and superior technologies, these tyres offer excellent stability and performance.

The Kumho Ecsta HS52, an upgraded version of the Kumho Ecsta HS51, has an overall rating of 81%. Its performance is noted for being balanced, showing solid results on both dry and wet surfaces. However, where the HS52 stumbles slightly is in terms of its environmental and sustainability profile, and certain efficiency issues. Nevertheless, it held a commendable 13th place in the Autoklub ČR’s test (out of 19), and 8th place in the rigorous ADAC test (out of 50).

On the other hand, we have the Pirelli Cinturato P7 C2, achieving an impressive rating of 92%. It is an improved version of Pirelli P7 Cinturato and is praised for its wet handling as well as proficiency on dry surfaces and overall mileage and efficiency. However, the P7 C2 shows some weaknesses on wet pitches and a slightly wobbly environmental profile. Despite these, the tyre achieved respectable results securing 4th position in the Autoklub ČR’s test and 17th place in the ADAC test.

In terms of mutual test positions, both tyres demonstrate remarkable results. Nonetheless, with all the data at our fingertips, we conclude that the overall winner in this comparison is the Pirelli Cinturato P7 C2 given its higher overall rating and performance. While the Kumho Ecsta HS52 shows promise and delivers good results, the P7 C2 offers more in terms of balanced performance and efficiency.

To summarise, both tyres offer credible performances and have their strengths. Yet, in a head-to-head battle, the Pirelli Cinturato P7 C2 nudges out the Kumho Ecsta HS52. Whichever you choose, you're getting excellent summer touring performance from either the HS52 or the P7 C2.
