Comparison: Goodyear Vector 4Seasons Gen-2 vs. Continental AllSeasonContact vs. Falken EuroALL Season AS210

1 mutual test(s) with detailed data

Here we are comparing two allround tyres, the Goodyear Vector 4Seasons Gen-2 and the Continental AllSeasonContact, both of which have been highly rated in various tests.

Let's start with the Goodyear Vector 4Seasons Gen-2. This tyre replaced the Goodyear Vector 4Seasons and secured an average position of 3 in the tests, garnering accolades for its excellent handling and braking in snowy conditions and comfort. The Vector 4Seasons Gen-2 was particularly praised for snow traction, as well as its performance in the wet and noise levels. Despite these strengths, the Gen-2 showed some signs of weakness on snow-covered and dry roads. For those looking for the newest edition, the Gen-2 has since been replaced by the Goodyear Vector 4Seasons Gen-3.

On the other hand, the Continental AllSeasonContact not only achieved an overall better rating of 76% compared to Goodyear’s 65%, but it also managed to take the top spot in various tests. The AllSeasonContact shone in several areas, including aquaplaning, both cross and longitudinal, dry handling, as well as snow handling. The tyre also exhibited a low rolling resistance and was appreciated for its low noise level. However, it wasn't free from criticism, with some reports of difficulties on dry roads. This model is manufactured in Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and France, by one of the industry’s leading companies, Continental.

In tests, both tyres performed admirably. However, the AllSeasonContact was generally more lauded, coming first in 3 out of 7 tests, compared to the Vector 4Seasons Gen-2 which only managed to grab the top spot once. Both tyres were recognised for their excellent performance under wet conditions, showcasing superior handling and braking capabilities. But the AllSeasonContact trumps the Gen-2 in snow handling, aquaplaning and comfort, providing an overall better driving experience.

In summary, whilst the AllSeasonContact and Vector 4Seasons Gen-2 are both excellent examples of all-round tyres, the Continental AllSeasonContact appears to offer the better overall performance according to these tests, making exceptional performance in a variety of situations. However, it should be noted that the Goodyear Vector 4Seasons is now available in the newer Gen-3 model which may well perform differently in similar test conditions.
