When it comes to summer tyres, two models that stand out are the Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance and Vredestein Sportrac 5. Both of these tyres display strong performances in various tests, each with their unique strengths and weaknesses.


Starting with the Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance, this summer tyre is made in Slovenia and scored a solid 84% in our rating system. The Efficient Grip Performance is known for its top-performing features in Aquaplaning, both cross and longitudinal, dry driving behavior, and wet circle cornering. It has consistently ranked high in tests, coming in fourth out of 16 tyres in the ADAC tests, and fifth out of 50 tyres in the Autobild tests. On the other hand, the Vredestein Sportrac 5 earned a 58% rating from us, and although this performance is not as strong as Goodyear's, it has proved itself to be superior in some aspects, in particular, the Wet circle cornering, it claimed the top position in the ADAC tests, and 11th in a pool of 50 tyres in the Autobild tests. In summary, both Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance and Vredestein Sportrac 5 are excellent choices for summer tyres, displaying a strong performance across different tests. If you prioritise aquaplaning resistance and dry driving behavior, Goodyear is the better option, but if wet circle cornering is your main concern, Vredestein will not disappoint. It's worth mentioning that Goodyear has a better overall rating in our tests and is manufactured by a well-known and respected brand in the tyre industry.
