Comparison: Fulda MultiControl vs. Michelin CrossClimate 2 vs. Hankook Ventus Evo

Today we're comparing two prominent all-round tyres, the Fulda MultiControl and the Michelin CrossClimate 2.

The Fulda MultiControl is Fulda's entrant in the allround tyre category, but it hasn't been able to make quite a splash in tests as compared to its counterpart. In the AUTOBILD test it scored a low 27th position out of 37 tyres and 30th out of 32 in another. Unfortunately, no strengths for the tyre were highlighted in these tests.

On the other hand, the Michelin CrossClimate 2, produced in Italy and Spain by Michelin, has proven to be a strong contender, scoring impressive positions and features in tests. Unlike the Fulda tyre, the Michelin CrossClimate 2 is a follow up to the previously successful Michelin CrossClimate model.

In the same AUTOBILD tests where the Fulda MultiControl failed to impress, the Michelin CrossClimate 2 excelled, gaining a 4th position out of 37 tyres and even securing the 1st position in another test. Testers highlighted best features like mileage, rolling resistance, snow cornering, snow handling, snow braking, dry braking, exterior noise, dry handling, and snow traction. This extensive list of strengths speaks to the quality and versatility of the Michelin CrossClimate 2.

Looking at the autobild 2024, 2023, and 2022 summaries for the Michelin CrossClimate 2, it is clear that the tyre boasts strong performance and short dry and snowy brakes. Furthermore, it offers a good mileage, low rolling resistance, excellent snow abilities, and precise steering. However, the Crossclimate 2 also shows some weak spots such as slightly extended brake distances on wet surfaces, high price, and only satisfactory cost-effectiveness.

In conclusion, when comparing the two tyres, the Michelin CrossClimate 2 stands out as the superior all-round tyre in terms of performance, strengths and test positions. Unfortunately, the Fulda MultiControl falls short in these areas. Therefore, for customers in search of a versatile and top-performing tyre, the Michelin CrossClimate 2 appears to be a more suitable choice.
