Comparison: Fulda EcoControl HP2 vs. Michelin Primacy 4+ vs. Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2 vs. Continental PremiumContact 7

1 mutual test(s) with detailed data

Today we will compare two tyres: Fulda EcoControl HP2 and Michelin Primacy 4+. Just for the record, the Michelin Primacy 4+ has been replaced by a Michelin Primacy 5. The Fulda EcoControl HP2, on the other hand, is the current model and has not been replaced yet. Before we get down to the business of comparing their features, let's have a look at the predecessors of these tyres. The Fulda EcoControl HP is the model that was replaced by the HP2, whereas the Michelin Primacy 4 replaced the Michelin Primacy 3.

According to the data we have, the Fulda EcoControl HP2 bagged the 16th position out of 55 total tyres in the Autobild test. This tyre got appreciated for exterior noise, but showed weakness on wet surfaces. In the autobild 2024 test, it was credited for a good environmental footprint, good mileage, tyre wear, and efficiency. However, its performance on the wet road was not balanced, causing a downgrade.

Looking at its counterpart, Michelin Primacy 4+, its performance in the tests was quite impressive. It scored 5th out of 55 tyres in the Autobild test and 3rd out of 50 in the ADAC test. The strengths lied in being very balanced, performing very well on dry and wet roads, the environmental footprint and a very high mileage, the latter was rated the best. It did not show any significant weaknesses according to the autobild 2024 test.

In short, Fulda EcoControl HP2 is a reliable tyre according to the milestones it achieved in the tests. However, its performance on wet roads could use some improvement. On the other hand, Michelin Primacy 4+ showed excellent performance in both autobild and ADAC tests, signifying it as a more balanced summer tyre option.

While drawing a conclusion, the data suggests that if you prefer a tyre that provides a quieter ride with good efficiency and longevity, opt for the Fulda EcoControl HP2. However, if you are looking for a balanced, highly rated (our rating being 76%) summer tyre that performs well on both dry and wet surfaces, the Michelin Primacy 4+ could be a better choice.
