Comparison: Firestone Roadhawk vs. Toyo Proxes Comfort vs. Maxxis Premitra HP5 vs. Pirelli P ZERO PZ4

When comparing the Firestone Roadhawk and Toyo Proxes Comfort tyres, there are several factors to consider. Both are considered summer tyres and notably, the Firestone model has been rated 59% by our own quality assessments while the Toyo model shows slightly superior with a rating of 66%. These tyres were tested by various automobile magazines, such as Autobild and Automotorsport, as well as the reputable car club, ADAC.

Firestone Roadhawk

The Firestone Roadhawk tyre, manufactured by Firestone, was highly praised for its dry and wet handling performance. This tyre took the tenth position out of fifty-three in the Autobild test. Its other significant strengths include dry handling, wet handling, and wet side guiding. However, it lost some points for increased rolling noise and slight weakness on wet surfaces in the Automotorsport 2019 and Autobild 2024 tests. Furthermore, this tyre secured the eleventh position in the ADAC test.

Toyo Proxes Comfort

On the other hand, the Toyo Proxes Comfort tyre, made by Toyo in Japan, also shows outstanding performance, particularly in dry handling. This tyre secured the 17th position in the Autobild test. According to the Automotorsport 2019 and Autobild 2022 tests, this touring subtype tyre provides dynamic wet and dry handling, short braking distance, and reasonable pricing. However, a downside would be minor safety reserves when curve aquaplaning and some issues with mileage. Still, this tyre managed to outperform Firestone Roadhawk in the ADAC test, taking fifth place out of eighteen.

In summary, while both tyres exhibit respectable performance in terms of handling, the Toyo Proxes Comfort appears to have a slight advantage overall, as reflected in its superior rating and higher test positions. However, the choice between these two would still greatly depend on the user's specific needs, including driving conditions and budget.

Please note that neither of these models has been replaced by a newer tyre as of the time of writing.
