Comparison: Firestone Roadhawk vs. Bridgestone Turanza T005 vs. Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2 vs. Michelin Primacy 4+

The Firestone Roadhawk and Bridgestone Turanza T005 are two high-performance summer tyres from reputable manufacturers Firestone and Bridgestone, each with their own strengths and weaknesses.

The Firestone Roadhawk received an overall rating of 72% from our team. Renowned for its efficient and lightweight design, strong points include its performance on dry roads and lower wear. However, its handling on wet surfaces and road noise were its main drawbacks, as mentioned in the test results from Autoklub ČR and ADAC. Specifically, it fell short in handling on a wet surface and produced the loudest noise among tyres in ADAC's test, leading to an 11th place out of 19 in Autoklub ČR's test and 5th place out of 16 in ADAC's test.

The Bridgestone Turanza T005, a touring subtype, scored considerably higher with an overall rating of 89%. Distinguished for its balanced performance, the tyre excelled in both dry and wet conditions, achieving first place among 16 tyres in ADAC's test and a commendable third place out of 19 in Autoklub ČR's test. Its attributes such as high efficiency, good environmental footprint, superior grip, and excellent wet and dry handling were constantly praised. It was, however, remarked for its slightly higher level of noise.

Inspecting their mutual test positions, while the Firestone Roadhawk excelled in dry braking, wet circle cornering, and dry driving behavior, the Bridgestone Turanza T005 exhibited excellent performance in a broader spectrum of features, notably wet handling and resistance to aquaplaning. This factor contributed to the Turanza T005's more favorable overall positioning in tests.

Moreover, the Bridgestone Turanza T005 stood out for its impressive handling traits on wet surfaces -- an area where the Firestone Roadhawk struggled. With higher versatility and enhanced performance, the Turanza T005 does have a slight disadvantage in terms of road noise and tread wear.

In conclusion, while both tyres have their merits, the Bridgestone Turanza T005 is the superior option overall due to its broader range of strengths and consistently high performance in testing. Yet, the Firestone Roadhawk also represents a suitable choice for motorists prioritizing efficiency and dry-surface handling. So, whether you choose one over the other could largely depend on your specific driving conditions and preferences.
