Comparison: Firestone Roadhawk vs. Avon ZV7 vs. Goodyear Efficientgrip 2 SUV vs. Pirelli P ZERO PZ4

Comparing the Firestone Roadhawk and the Avon ZV7 reveals important differences and unique strengths that can be beneficial to different driving styles.

Firestone Roadhawk

The Firestone Roadhawk, produced by Firestone, is a summer tyre earning a rating of 57% on our website. It was well-regarded for its wet and dry handling and wet side guide in Autobild's test, securing a commendable third position out of 51 tyres. Firestone Roadhawk also achieved a respectable seventh place out of nine in the ACE tyre test, with rolling resistance being a standout feature. It excels in dry conditions and is an efficient and lightweight tyre, earning top marks for these categories in the autobild 2019 tests. However, it has been noted for its unbalanced performance and weaknesses in wet conditions. The tyre has since been replaced by the Firestone Roadhawk 2.

Avon ZV7

On the other hand, the Avon ZV7, manufactured by Avon, is another summer tyre. Our website gave it a rating of 17%, due in part to its performance in the ADAC and Autobild tests, where it ranked 42nd out of 50 tyres and 16th out of 51 tyres respectively. The tyre's most outstanding feature, as per the ACE tyre test, is its exterior noise. While it has been appreciated for being relatively fuel-efficient according to the autobild 2019 test, it was found wanting when it came to performance on dry roads. It was also marked down for poor environmental performance, short tread life, and high wear.

In conclusion, the Firestone Roadhawk outperforms the Avon ZV7 overall in test results, demonstrating superior dry and wet handling abilities. If you're primarily driving in dry conditions, the Firestone Roadhawk might be a suitable choice for you. However, if you're looking for a quieter ride and fuel efficiency, the Avon ZV7 might be more to your liking.
