In this article, we put two summer tyre models - the Dunlop Sport BluResponse and the Petlas Imperium PT515 - head to head. These two models have been put through a series of rigorous tests and given scores based on their performance.
The Dunlop Sport BluResponse tyre comes from Dunlop, a reliable manufacturer known its commitment to excellence. In our tests, this tyre gained an overall rating of 67%. In the Autobild test, it ranked 11th out of 53 tyres, and excelled in terms of rolling resistance and comfort. Moreover, it was ranked 16th in the ADAC test out of 50 tyres. Some of the positive remarks about this tyre included its efficiency and lightness, making it good on a dry track. However, it was found to be slightly underwhelming when it came to handling wet surfaces, and also criticized for its relatively low mileage.
On the other hand, we have The Petlas Imperium PT515, a product from the Turkish tyre manufacturer Petlas. This tyre received an overall rating of 42% from our tests. In the Autobild comparison, it ranked 35th out of 53, and a slightly better 30th in the ADAC test out of 50 tyres. This tyre was appreciated for its high mileage and low wear, making it a durable pick. However, it was pointed out as not quite balanced, with noticeable disadvantages on both wet and dry surfaces, on top of its comparatively heavy weight and sustainability issues.
To wrap it up, the Dunlop Sport BluResponse and the Petlas Imperium PT515 each have their strengths and weaknesses. The Dunlop Sport BluResponse excels in comfort and rolling resistance and is a good tyre for dry conditions. However, it lacks a bit in terms of mileage and handling wet conditions. The Petlas Imperium PT515, on the other hand, stands out with its high mileage and low wear but falls behind due to its unbalanced performance and sustainability issues.
When we compare their performances in the tests, the Dunlop Sport BluResponse takes an edge over the Petlas Imperium PT515 with an a better test position across the boards.
