Comparison: Dunlop Sport BluResponse vs. Kumho Ecsta HS52 vs. Firestone Roadhawk

Two popular summer options for drivers are the Dunlop Sport BluResponse and the Kumho Ecsta HS52, both offering quality performance and durability. Both tyres have undergone multiple tests and have been ranked among the top contenders in their respective categories. However, a thorough comparison reveals key differences in how they perform, and which might be the better choice for specific driving needs.

The Dunlop Sport BluResponse, ranked highly on our site with an 83% rating, shows its strength in its incredibly low rolling resistance, a feature singled out as the best during the Autobild test where it secured the 20th position out of 55 tyres. Moreover, Autobild 2024 praises the Dunlop tyre for its performance on dry roads and its efficient, lightweight design. However, some weaknesses were noted such as slight imbalances and performance deficits on wet roads along with a relatively lower mileage.

On the other hand, Kumho Ecsta HS52, with our rating of 81%, outperformed in the Autobild test by securing a phenomenal 2nd spot. Multiple features were highlighted as the best, including its dry/wet braking and dry handling. Furthermore, this tyre is a newer generation of the Kumho Ecsta HS51, appearing to have improved its performance in various aspects. The Dunlop Sport BluResponse stands out in terms of low rolling resistance and efficiency, while the Kumho Ecsta HS52 impresses in braking and dry handling, making for pleasant driving experiences. However, taking all the tests into account, the Kumho Ecsta HS52 appears to deliver a slightly better overall performance.
