Comparison: Dunlop Sport BluResponse vs. Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance vs. Dunlop SP Sport MAXX RT2

Today, we take a closer look at two summer tyres: Dunlop Sport BluResponse and Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance. Both tyres have been a popular choice among drivers for their performance and quality. However, the Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance has now been replaced with the newer model, Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance 2.

Based on our rating scale, the Dunlop Sport BluResponse scores 85% while the Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance scores 88%. Both tyres are produced by reputable manufacturers - Dunlop and Goodyear.

In the Autoklub ČR test with a total of 8 tyres, the Dunlop Sport BluResponse secured the 2nd position, while the Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance took the 3rd position. The Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance's strong point in this test was dry handling.

The ACE test featured 9 tyres, where the Dunlop Sport BluResponse once again took the 2nd position. It excelled in several areas, such as aquaplaning (cross and longitudinal), dry driving behavior, dry handling, wet handling, and wet handling objective. On the other hand, Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance ranked 6th, with strengths in dry handling, rolling resistance, wet handling, and wet handling objective.

In the Autobild test involving 50 tyres, Dunlop Sport BluResponse ranked 6th, while the Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance ranked 5th. The latter stood out with its aquaplaning performance (cross).

Lastly, in the ADAC test, where a total of 16 tyres were considered, the Dunlop Sport BluResponse ranked 3rd and showcased its strengths in safety and wet braking. Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance ranked 4th in this test, excelling in dry driving behavior and wet circle cornering.

Verdict:
The Dunlop Sport BluResponse displays consistent performance across all tested aspects, making it a reliable summer tyre choice. Its main strengths lie in its aquaplaning resistance, dry and wet handling, and wet braking.

The Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance earns a slightly higher overall rating and performs particularly well in dry and wet handling, rolling resistance, and aquaplaning resistance. However, remember that this model has been replaced by the newer Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2.

Both the Dunlop Sport BluResponse and the Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance are solid options for summer tyres, but the Goodyear's slightly better overall rating and newer version make it worth considering if you're in the market for new tyres.
