We are comparing two summer tyres, the Cooper Zeon CS8 (link here) and the Semperit Speed-Life 3 (link here), focusing on test results and performance strengths and weaknesses.

The Cooper Zeon CS8, manufactured in the UK, has an overall rating of 42% on our site. In the Autobild and ADAC tests, it was found to be slightly less competitive, ranking 26th and 33rd out of 53 and 50 tyres respectively. Its strong point is reportedly good performance on wet roads, but it has demonstrated weaknesses on dry roads, in terms of wear resistance and eco-friendliness. More details can be found at Cooper Tires.

On the other hand, the Semperit Speed-Life 3 stands out with a higher overall rating of 59% on our site. It ranked 12th and 19th on the Autobild and ADAC tests, respectively, outperforming the Cooper Zeon CS8. It excels in wet braking, but comparative tests show it to be less balanced with certain weaknesses on dry roads and in terms of environmental friendliness. Refer to Semperit for more information.

Semperit Speed-Life 3 replaced its predecessor, the Semperit Speed-Life. The Cooper Zeon CS8, however, doesn't have a direct successor yet.

In summary, the Semperit Speed-Life 3 outperforms the Cooper Zeon CS8 in the tested categories and mutual tests. Although both tyres have the ability to provide good performance on wet roads, the Semperit Speed-Life 3 is better overall in terms of ranking, efficiency and better running performance. Yet, both tyres have room for improvement when it comes to performance on dry roads and environmental impact.

End-users considering any of these options must weigh these factors against their personal driving habits, and road and weather conditions which they commonly encounter. Remember that safe driving and tire maintenance also contribute greatly to tyre service life and performance.
