Comparison: Continental PremiumContact 7 vs. Pirelli P ZERO PZ4 vs. Bridgestone Turanza T005 vs. Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2

Let's dive into the comparison between the Continental PremiumContact 7 and the Pirelli P ZERO PZ4. These two summer tyres are manufactured by Continental and Pirelli, respectively.

The Continental PremiumContact 7, a touring tyre, scored an impressive 97% in our rating. This model was made in FR, SK, DE, and CZ and doesn't have any newer model replacing it. The tyre has succeeded the Continental PremiumContact 6 and Continental ContiPremiumContact 5. It stood out in Aquaplaning - longitudinal and rolling resistance among other features in the AutoBild test where it positioned fifth out of 50 tyres.

In the AutoZeitung test, it positioned second out of 10 tyres. The ACE test results also showed its strengths in wet braking, wet handling both objectively and overall, dry braking, and rolling resistance, also positioning second out of 10. The positive review was backed in AutoBild 2023 and AutoBild 2025, with a noted drawback on its slightly higher price.

On the other hand, the Pirelli P ZERO PZ4, an UUHP tyre, scored 89% in our rating. This tyre does not have the details for the manufacturing country and replacement model. It surpassed the Continental PremiumContact 7 in the AutoBild test by standing third out of 50 tyres. The tyre also excelled in dry handling, wet braking, wet circle cornering, and overall wet handling.

However, in the AutoZeitung and ACE tests, the Pirelli tyre stood fifth among 10 tyres. Its only strength in the ACE testing was the objective wet handling. Despite its excellent driving dynamics and short wet and dry braking distances noted in AutoBild 2023, its limited mileage and higher price led to a downgrade.

In conclusion, the Continental PremiumContact 7 and Pirelli P ZERO PZ4 both have their unique strengths and weaknesses. The Continental stands out in handling, braking, both wet and dry, and rolling resistance, albeit with a slightly elevated price. The Pirelli exhibits prowess in wet and dry handling and braking but falls short in mileage and also comes with a heftier price. The Continental tyre appears to come out slightly ahead overall, but the verdict can vary depending on individual priorities and usage conditions.
