Comparison: Continental PremiumContact 7 vs. BFGoodrich Advantage vs. Hankook ION Evo

The Continental PremiumContact 7 and the BFGoodrich Advantage are both summer tyres known for their impressive features. However, their performance in Autobild's tests reveal both their strengths and weaknesses.

The Continental PremiumContact 7, a newer model in the Continental line, following the successful Continental PremiumContact 6 and Continental ContiPremiumContact 5, claims our highest rating of 97%. Manufactured in FR, SK, DE & CZ, this touring tyre took the top spot in Autobild's tyre test of 55 tyres. The PremiumContact 7 received high praise for its longitudal aquaplaning, rolling resistance, dry and wet braking, as well as wet circle cornering.

In the Autobild 2025 test, even though there were no explicit 'pros', the PremiumContact 7 was undeniably lauded for its excellent aquaplaning reserves, short braking distances, dynamic handling behavior, impressive mileage and good cost performance. In Autobild 2024's test the tyre didn't have a 'con' and made its mark with its exemplary performances on wet and dry tracks, shortest wet and dry braking distances, and solid mileage.

On the flipside, BFGoodrich Advantage (a produce of BFGoodrich), though not necessarily underperforming, stood 18th on the Autobild test list. It received recognition for comfort. Rating 66% on our scale, the Advantage was commended in the Autobild 2024 test for its dynamic dry handling, quiet rolling noise, low rolling resistance, and competitive price, but it did showcase a tendency to understeer in wet conditions.

In conclusion, both the PremiumContact 7 and Advantage establish themselves as capable summer tyres. Yet, in reaching a verdict, the Continental PremiumContact 7 clearly takes the win with its splendid array of strengths and limited downsides. Meanwhile, the BFGoodrich Advantage certainly has its strong points - primarily comfort and low rolling resistance - but pales in comparison when looking at the complete performance package.
