Comparison: Continental PremiumContact 6 vs. Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2 vs. GoodYear Efficientgrip Performance 2 vs. Pirelli Cinturato (C3)

In our comparative analysis, we will be looking at two tyres that are widely used for their high performance during summer. The tyres in focus are the Continental PremiumContact 6 by Continental and the Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2 by Goodyear.

The Continental PremiumContact 6 earns an average rating of 87% from our tests, coming first in the ADAC test amongst 15 tyres and ranking fourth in Autobild among 53 tyres tested. It also secured fourth place in Teknikens's tests out of 10 tyres. However, it stands at the sixth position in the GTÜ test out of 9 tyres. Among its optimal features are stellar wet handling and braking, along with efficient dry handling. This tyre was the successor of the Continental ContiPremiumContact 5 and it has since been replaced by the Continental PremiumContact 7.

The Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2, on the other hand, holds the same overall rating of 87%, but positions vary among the tests. It ranks second in the Teknikens tests among 10 tyres, securing the fourth position among 15 tyres in the ADAC test, and places 13th in the Autobild's test of 53 tyres. Unfortunately, it couldn't perform as well in the GTÜ tests, finishing last out of 9 tyres. Despite these variations, its strengths lie in providing excellent comfort, value for money, and high mileage, on top of great performance in dry handling and wet cornering. This tyre took the reins from the Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance.

In summation, although both tyres perform remarkably well, with both scoring an overall rating of 87%, the Continental PremiumContact 6 has a slight edge when it comes to safety, with superior wet handling and braking features. The Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance 2, however, excels in delivering comfort, value, and high mileage. Your final decision should depend on what features you prioritize in a tyre. Whether it is safety or comfort and mileage, both tyres will undoubtedly provide a solid performance.

Note: Both tyres reviewed are summer tyres, not equipped to handle snow and ice during winter months.
