1 mutual test(s) with detailed data

The Continental PremiumContact 6 and BFGoodrich Advantage are both summer tyres but do performance and quality vary? So, let’s find out.

Starting with the Continental PremiumContact 6, it has a rating of 83% based on our tests. This tyre, made in SK, DE, and CZ, is a touring subtype and notably replaced the Continental ContiPremiumContact 5. Its top strengths in tests have been consistently wet braking and handling, even earning the top position in the ADAC test out of 15 tyres. The autobild 2020 summary noted it for being very balanced, providing high driving safety, good on dry and wet road surfaces and high mileage, though it had some weaknesses in efficiency. It was also placed sixth in the GTÜ test and fourth in the Autobild test, where it once again proved its wet handling and braking superiority. To top it all, it has been replaced by a newer model, the Continental PremiumContact 7.

On the flip side, we have the BFGoodrich Advantage. Based on our tests, it has a decent rating of 68%. Recognized for its fuel efficiency, this tyre earned the ninth position in the ADAC test. It also held its ground in dry handling, which was noted as one of the best features in the Autobild test, where it earned the 18th position out of 53. However, it did not fare as well in the GTÜ test, where it ranked eighth out of nine tyres tested.

In terms of mutual test positions, the Continental model generally outperforms the BFGoodrich especially in wet conditions, while the latter may be more attractive to those focused on fuel efficiency and dry handling. Both tyres exhibit strengths and weaknesses in various conditions but overall Continental PremiumContact 6 is the higher-ranking tyre in multiple tests.

So, what's the final verdict? If you're looking for a summer tyre with top-notch safety features and great wet road performance, Continental PremiumContact 6 is the way to go. On the other hand, If fuel efficiency and dry handling are your top priorities, BFGoodrich Advantage is a worthy consideration.
